NAKED 3!!

Yes!

I'm sure you already know, but just in case you've been living in rock or outer space for the last few weeks, the new Urban Decay Palette has landed.

And not without a bumpy ride. Firstly the 'accidental' release in France, then it hit America and then made its away across to the UK for an early release. They do know how to keep us all excited for some rose toned goodiness.

If your a fan of the Urban Decay palettes or the beauty world in general, then I'm sure this is not the first post you've read. I had been desperate to try some of this glowing goodness, from when it was first announced and the 16th of December UK launch timed perfectly with birthday. (Bonus points Urban Decay)

My boyfriend kindly offered to buy me it as a birthday present, but I could hardly contain myself when I spotted the girl unpacking it at my local Urban Decay counter a whole 6 DAYS earlier AND with 10% off!! So after a whole 5 second decision it was mine! Yay to me but not so much for my poor boyfriend who had pre-ordered it from America just to make sure I got it for my birthday. (oops) But don't worry he was able to return it and I got some other lovely goodies instead. Woo!

 The packaging is just beautiful!

This has definitely been the year of the rose-gold. Rihanna's Riri hearts collection for MAC showed lovely rose gold packaging and Urban Decay have continued the trend by creating this rose-gold wonder. Urban decay have continued the 'tin' theme like the Naked 2. There has been mixed reviews towards the design as some people had experienced the tin breaking after use. Although fingers crossed that with some good care it will stay intacted.

As I'm sure you can already guess, each shade is built around the rose-gold theme. It features 12 BRAND NEW shades, so if your a Urban Decay lover, you won't find yourself with any doublers. (Bonus) It is such a wearable tone and especially suits my pale pinky skin tone. Although I'm sure this would compliment most skin tones.
There are the 6 lighter shades in the palette.

Strange - A pale neutral pink matte. This provides a lovely subtle highlight. It is barely visible on my arm there. But with a good primer it is great to blend into the brow and soften out any harsh lines.
Dust - A pale metallic pink shimmer (with micro glitter) It doesn't provide the best colour pay off and has a little fall out. However it is lovely as an inner highlight to brighten up any look.
Burnout - A pink- peachy satin. This colour provides a warm flush with a bit more depth than a matte which gives a subtle glow.
Limit - A dusty rose matte - This shade is one of my favourites, either used as a base, or in the crease for a light shadow.
Buzz - A metallic rose shimmer (with silver micro glitter). The smooth texture is easily blended and provides an almost purple tone that adds that extra sparkle.
Trick - A metallic pink-gold (with micro glitter). Similar to Buzz, this colour really provides the wow factor. The most 'gold' out of all the shades
its perfect for any party look.

Moving on to the 6 darker shades in the palette.

Nooner - A pinky-brown matte - This is the 3rd matte in the palette. When used with both Strange and Limit it provides the most beautiful subtle look.
Liar - A metallic - mauve shimmer - This shade is a burnt pink with gold undertones.
Factory - A pinky - brown satin. This colour provides a warm shade that can be used to create an intense smokey eye.
Mugshot - A metallic taupe shimmer (with a pink undertone). As with the last 2 shades it provides intense colour with a subtle shimmer.
Darkside - A mauve -taupe satin. It provides a cool-toned option in contrast with some of the more warmer toned shades in the palette. It is unique and very useable.
Blackheart - A matte black (with red micro glitter) This is a very interesting shade. As much as we all love a good matte black. This little gem provides that little bit extra with the red micro glitter providing an extra sparkle to any look.

The palette also comes with a double ended eyeshadow brush. With one side for application and the other for blending. This is good quality and handy for travel. The palette also comes with a sample of each of the Urban Decay primer potions; The Orginal, Sin, Eden and The Anti-aging. If your unfamiliar to the products or are looking to try a different one, this is a good opportunity to see what works best for you.

I purchased the palette from my local Debenhams for £33.30 (10% off), although I recently learned that this had been a price error and that I should not have gotten the discount off. (Double oops) But if your still looking for an extra gift this holiday season it is still available for £37 from Debenhams and House of Fraser. It is also usually stocked on Look Fantastic.com however it is out of stock at the moment :( (19/12/13).

Thanks,
Claire

The weegies a wonderer ...

Well that's a kind of confusing title. But I'm definitely in a wondering mood, hence the blog!

For anyone who actually stumbles across this.
A 'weegie' is a slang term for someone from Glasgow and that I definitely am.

I am also a blogaholic. Is that even a thing? Who knows, but I always need to have my daily fix.
Just like someone may have their morning coffee, or their daily newspaper.
I read blogs, and now I've decided to write one. To claim my small little space of the thing we call the internet.

I'm by no means an expert on beauty or fashion or general life actually. But what I am is a normal girl, who is forever trying to decide whether a MAC lipstick or a new pair of shoes is the top of my priorities. (Who cares about the 2 essays I should actually be doing right now ... oops!).

This is just my weird but wonderful life, on 'paper' floating about the magical world of social media.
What an interesting thought ...

:)
